Outdoor Partners: Working Together To Ensure and Enhance Recreational Access to Maine’s Outdoors

The Outdoor Partners Landowner Relations Program works with landowners and landusers to ensure recreational access to Maine’s outdoors.

You too can help ensure access by becoming an Outdoor Partner. It’s simple. When you purchase your license, also purchase the Outdoor Partner option.

This $15.00 goes directly into the landowner relations fund, a protected fund created by the legislature dedicated to ensuring that there will be access for outdoor recreation.

Funds collected through the program are utilized to protect and enhance access to private land throughout the state. Funds go directly to enhanced law enforcement details in problem areas, towards IFW’s landowner sign program, to purchasing equipment to investigate and prosecute property abuses and criminal trespass complaints, as well as promotional and educational programs designed to enhance and maintain access.

Outdoor Partners will be mailed a membership card. Members of the program are asked to abide by a simple code of ethics, and to help a landowner in the upcoming year.

In addition, Outdoor Partners receive valuable offers at retailers throughout the state of Maine.

Along with your membership and discounts, Outdoor Partners also receive a two for one special on admissions at the Maine Wildlife Park and Swan Island, as well as a discount on all IFW logo merchandise.

Outdoor partners will also get newsletters throughout the year with information concerning the program, the department, and Maine’s fish and wildlife resources.

We hope you will become an Outdoor Partner and help promote good landowner relations!
