On October 15, 2011 Nakita was seized by the Animal Welfare Program. Nakita was examined by a local veterinarian and she was estimated to be 15-20 pounds underweight.  Nakita has now gained 30 pounds and she is living the life of luxury with a retired couple that adore her. A special thank you to Dr. Bill Newcomb of Little River Veterinary Clinic and the ARK Animal Shelter for all the special care provided to Nakita. Nakita’s former owner was convicted of animal cruelty
