The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania Milk Marketing Board invite you to beautiful Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for the 77th Annual Conference of the International Association of Milk Control Agencies. The conference will be held at the Sheraton, Station Square, overlooking downtown Pittsburgh.
In addition to an outstanding program filled with the most knowledgeable experts in the milk industry, the conference theme will focus on the changing dynamics between agriculture and the energy industry in Pennsylvania. You don’t want to miss this one. We are featuring a presentation by Shell Exploration and Production Company explaining the process of hydraulic fracturing (fracking) to extract natural gas, along with a tour of two sites, drilling and gas harvesting. You will be able to see firsthand the impact of the gas industry on agriculture. This energy-themed conference will also highlight on-farm green energy generation and an educational tour of a coal mine modified to accommodate tours given by mining engineers.
This conference will provide dairy professionals like you with the opportunity to hear the latest developments in the industry from the top professionals in the business. For those interested in attending, there is a Pittsburgh Pirate game on Sunday, August 4. Ryan Boughen from Saskatchewan, has graciously volunteered to coordinate that activity. The Pirates will be playing the Rockies at 1:35 pm. You can enjoy the game and still make it to the President’s reception that evening.
