Visit Procedure Changes For Prisoner/Public/Staff Safety

Women’s Center Visitors will be processed and
given access to the Women’s Center (WC) via the MPU garage. Visitors
are required to leave any coats in the WC lobby area.
MPU Visitors will continue to access the MPU via the garage. Visitors are required to leave any coats in the Reception area.
- At this time, NO PERSONAL VEHICLES will be allowed to drive to the Women’s Center or MPU.
- ALL visitors will use the visit van.
- THE VISIT VAN LEAVES 15 MINUTES EARLY FOR MPU & WC VISITS!!
GARAGE PROCEDURE:
- Visit van enters MPU garage
- Visitors empty pockets into a container
- Officer secures these belongings in a weapons locker and retains the key.
- Visitors checked with a handheld metal detector.
- Visitors may be required to take off their shoes.
- After passing the handheld metal detector, visitors must step through a standing metal detector.
HILL VISIT PROCEDURE:
- Processing will begin 15 minutes before the scheduled start of visits. Visitors will only be allowed through from control during this 15 minute window.
- Once the Visit Officer begins calling for prisoners absolutely no additional visitors will be allowed in.
- Visitors will be checked with a handheld metal detector.
- Visitors may be required to take off their shoes.
- After passing the handheld metal detector, visitors must step through a standing metal detector.
- ALL keys will be left at the front desk (NOT in your vehicle)
- ALL coats will be on the coat rack.
- After signing in, each visitor will be directed to an assigned table.
- When the count clears, prisoners will be called to visits.
ATTENTION:
- Once a visitor leaves the visit room they will not be allowed to return – the visit is over.
- Minor children will always be escorted by an Adult.
- If the minor needs to leave the visit room, both the adult and minor will not be allowed to return.
- If a prisoner’s visitor(s) leave, the prisoner must remain seated until the end of visits after the entire scheduled visit session is concluded.
These changes are to ensure a safer environment for everyone!!
