Program and Services
In order to receive the services listed below, children up to the age of 21 need to be eligible for MaineCare

Anyone who is concerned because their child is showing behaviors or dangerous thinking. | To respond to a child & family in crisis in order to keep everyone safe. |
| Children/youth that show need for mental health assessment & treatment. Services may include counseling, family therapy. | Address any symptoms and promote emotional and behavioral stability. | |
| Any child who is receiving medication for behavioral or emotional health needs. | Prescription, administration and/or monitoring of medications intended for treatment and management of symptoms. | |
Rehabilitative and Community Services (RCS) is for children or youth up to the age of 21 who have a developmental disability that affects their every day functioning. |
Skill building in areas of daily living & behavioral management to support child’s functioning in the home & community. | |
| Children/Youth with Serious Emotional Disturbance | Offer strategies to help the child & family manage mental health symptoms, function better in home, school & community, and prevent hospitalization. | |
Assertive Community Treatment (ACT)-MaineCare No active providers at this time |
Those families living with, or caring for, children with serious mental illness. | Intense 24/7 symptom management and supports in home, school & community to prevent hospitalization. |
| Intensive Temporary Residential Treatment (ITRT) | Children with a mental health diagnoiss that can be treated in a residential treatment program | Residential treatment is a short term treatment (1 to 4 months) to teach youth/parents skills to manage behaviors safely at home. |
The types of services listed below do not require MaineCare eligibility, but do require prior approval by Children's Behavioral Health Services

| Respite Care | Caregivers of children/youth up to the age of 18 with behavioral health disability | Relief to parents/guardians responsible for the care of children/youth with Serious Emotional Disturbance or developmental disability. |
| Homeless Youth | Homeless youth up to age 21 | Provide shelter, mentoring & guidance to homeless youth. |
| Youth up to age 21 receiving service through CBHS | To provide financial assistance to support treatment goals in the child’s support plan. |
