Figure 17. Large outcrop of ledge that extends to the point. It is dominantly Kittery Formation, intruded by a small body of granite toward the south end, and a large basalt dike just below the point of land. Many minor structural features such as folds and faults deform the bedding in the Kittery. The bluff at the point, though not very high, is highly unstable. Last updated on October 4, 2012 |
