Figure 14. Interpretation of ebbing current patterns allowed for the designation of several current zones in the study area. Overall, the Goochs Beach study area appears to be defined by an entrainment current zone (ECZ), nearshore current zone (NCZ), slack current zone (SCZ), and two fringe current zones, east and west (ECFZ and WCFZ, respectively). The ECZ appears to directly influence the NCZ and the EFCZ, while the SCZ forms a boundary between the ECZ and WFCZ, and an offshore boundary for the NCZ.
