SEBAGO CAMPERS ONLY:
Four-night Minimum Policy for Sebago Reservations made in
February: In recent years, campers at Sebago Lake State
Park have complained that the two-day minimum allows many
weekends to be reserved. This practice makes it impossible
for many campers to make a longer reservation that includes
a weekend. Recognizing that Sebago campers average longer
stays than those at other state park campgrounds, during
the month of February, we will only accept reservations
for four or more nights at Sebago. Beginning March 1, we
will accept two-night reservations. We hope this policy
change will allow more campers who want four or more nights
on the same campsite to make such a reservation. Others
wishing to camp for shorter periods will be able to make
reservations after February. If we receive any two-night
reservations for Sebago Lake State Park postmarked before
March 1, it will be returned by U.S. Mail to you.
Cancellation Policy
for four-night Sebago Reservations made in February:
The minimum length of stay is four nights for those campers
making reservations in February. There will be no refund
if any of these nights are canceled.
OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Check-in
and check-out times: Check out is 11:00 a.m. Please
be sure to note that campsite check-in will not be permitted
before 1:00 p.m. Park staff needs at least two hours to
clean recently-vacated sites appropriately.
Changing camper names on permits:
If the person who made the reservation is unable to make
the camping trip, and another member of the family or camping
party is taking his/her place, please call the reservation
office to change the name on the reservation permit. This
will speed up check-in time at the park.
Duplicate reservation requests:
Last year, many campers were so anxious to get the campsite
they wanted, they sent in more than one reservation request.
With several staff members processing reservations simultaneously,
we are unable to catch duplicate requests and you may end
up with several reservations. We want to remind you that
there is a $15 processing fee for all reservations canceled.
All other reservation processing policies
will be the same as last year. Please review the Bureau's
reservation brochure, or this website, for procedures.
The reservation staff is dedicated to providing
quality service. If you have any questions prior to February
1, 2006, please feel free to call (207) 287-2209. We wish
you and your families an enjoyable holiday season and look
forward to hearing from you in 2006.
We will accept 1-night reservations from Sunday-Thursday
nights only. Not Friday, Saturday, or holiday nights. There
are no refunds for 1-night reservations and the same rules
apply as with 2-night reservations.
Cancellation of internet reservations can
now be processed online.
Campers are only allowed to move/change a
site one time when making a reservation. It is the policy
of the bureau to let campers move when arriving at the park,
if another site is open and is of the appropriate size for
the period of time necessary to accomodate the request.
There will be no refunding of reservation fees.
No Shows
Campsites will be held for the first night
of the reservation period. If the camping party has not
contacted the park by 6:00 PM on the second night, the site
will be rented out and the reservation will be considered
canceled. The are no refunds for NO SHOW
reservations.
