On November 19, 2021, the Board of Trustees adopted changes in two minimum standard policies, to take effect January 1, 2022. They are:

Classes have resumed at the Academy. Currently, there is no lodging available at the Academy during classes, other than the BLETP.

Basic Law Enforcement

In 1972, the Maine Legislature passed laws mandating the Trustees of the Maine Criminal Justice Academy to establish standards for training for Municipal and County Law Enforcement Officers.

 

Basic Corrections

In 1978, the Maine Legislature passed laws mandating the Trustees of the Maine Criminal Justice Academy to establish standards for training for Corrections Officers.

 

Law Enforcement Pre-Service

In 1989, the 114th Maine Legislature passed laws mandating the Board of Trustees of the Maine Criminal Justice Academy to establish standards for pre-service training.
