Funding

  • School that receive program approval from the Department of Education can claim a per pupil subsidy by submitting per pupil counts in October and April.
  • A program must operate a minimum of ten hours a week in order for a district to receive per pupil subsidy
  • Funding for public four year old programs can only be received by a school administrative unit.  A school can choose to partner or sub contract with a community based program in order to provide a program.  In those cases, there must be a yearly Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), which clearly explains the relationship and requirements of each party involved.  This MOU must be submitted to the Department of Education on a yearly basis.
