Career and Technical Student Organizations

A number of organizations are open to students at CTE schools. These groups offer students an opportunity to improve their leadership skills while also furthering their education.

DECA, an association of marketing students, prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.

FBLA-PBL , also known as Future Business Leaders of America – Phi Beta Lambda. Their mission is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs. The Maine FBLA is the state level affiliate to the national organization.

FCCLA, Family, Career and Community Leaders of America. Their mission is to promote personal growth and leadership development through Family and Consumer Sciences education. Focusing on the multiple roles of family member, wage earner and community leader, members develop skills for life through character development; creative and critical thinking; interpersonal communications; practical knowledge; and career preparation.

FFA The National FFA Organization (formerly Future Farmers of America) envisions a future in which all agricultural education students will discover their passion in life and build on that insight to chart the course for their educations, career and personal future. The Maine FFA Association is the state level affiliate to the national organization and provides additional opportunities to its nearly 500 members.

HOSA HOSA's two-fold mission is to promote career opportunities in the health care industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people. HOSA's goal is to encourage all health occupations instructors and students to join and be actively involved in the HSE-HOSA Partnership. HOSA provides a unique program of leadership development, motivation, and recognition exclusively for secondary, postsecondary, adult, and collegiate students enrolled in HSE programs. HOSA is 100% health care!

SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. SkillsUSA helps each student excel. SkillsUSA Maine is the state level affiliate to the national organization.
