Laboratory Safety

There are rules from several different governmental agencies that impact school laboratory safety. Currently work is being done to create a simpler more coherent set of reference materials for educators. In the interim schools should reference the following documents.

• School Chemistry Laboratory Safety Guide - US Consumer Product Safety Commission
• Hazardous Waste/Universal Waste
• Maine Department of Environmental Protection - Maine School Environmental Guide - May 2006

  • Safety and Health Topics - Laboratories
