Introduction to civil rights in career and technical education

The legislation covered in this section is part of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Specifically, Title VI prohibits discrimination based on race, color or national origin for any individual participating in a program or activity funded by the U. S. Department of Education. This regulation includes career and technical education (formerly vocational education), regular education, special education and higher education.
