April 10, 2009 South Portland Woman Located on Kokadjo Snowmobile Trail Augusta, Maine - A 75-year-old South Portland woman who was reported missing by her family on Thursday was located at approximately 10 a.m. today on a snowmobile trail five miles north of Kokadjo. Beverly Rutherford, 75, was located by snowmobilers who were riding the trail, according to Game Warden Mike Favreau. Ms. Rutherford’s vehicle was three miles away from where she was found, stuck in mud on the snowmobile trail. She was shivering, and had lost one of her boots while walking the trail. The snowmobilers brought Ms. Rutherford to Kokadjo Store, and storekeepers Marie and Fred Candelero provided her with warm clothes and tea. Ms. Rutherford was taken to Charles A. Dean Memorial Hospital in Greenville for evaluation and treatment of minor injuries to her foot. Ms. Rutherford’s family had filed a missing persons report at the South Portland Police Department on Thursday. Her family is en route to Greenville. Wardens Faverau and Roger Guay are investigating. |
