April 13, 2010 Snowmobiler Missing Since January Found in China Lake Augusta, Maine - Tonight, two fishermen located the body of Richard "Shaw" Jackson, 18, of China, who went missing while snowmobiling on January 1. Mr. Jackson was found at approximately 6 p.m. in China Lake, in the west basin of what’s called the narrows. The anglers were familiar with last January's six-day search for the teenager, and upon locating him in the water this evening they immediately contacted the authorities, according to MWS Major Gregory Sanborn. "We are appreciative that the efforts of these anglers resulted in Shaw being returned to his family," said Major Sanborn. Mr. Jackson's family and the principal of his school, Erskine Academy, have been notified. The Maine Warden Service was assisted by Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office. |
