Two St. Albans Teens Seriously Injured in ATV Incident

Augusta, Maine - The Maine Warden Service is investigating an early-morning ATV incident in which two 16-year-old boys from St. Albans were seriously injured.

The teens were last seen around midnight by one of their mothers, and sometime later went out on the ATV. One teen was driving and the other was a passenger.

Around 4:10 a.m., the Maine Warden Service was dispatched on a missing persons call relating to this incident. One of the boys had contacted his father by cell phone, but had poor service. The father then called for assistance.

The teens had traveled on Pond Road in St. Albans, struck a rock and then a tree.

St. Albans volunteer firefighters and Maine Warden Service game wardens located the boys about an hour after the call, according to Game Warden Jonathan Parker.

Both teens were transported to Sebasticook Valley Hospital in Pittsfield before both being transported to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor – one by LifeFlight and one by ambulance.

The extent of their injuries is not known at this time as they currently are being treated at Eastern Maine Medical Center. Neither was wearing a helmet.

The incident is under investigation.
