Search Underway on Big Lake for Missing Angler

The Maine Warden Service is conducting a search of Big Lake in Township 27 (Washington County) for a 40-year-old Princeton man who went into the water while fishing by boat on Saturday afternoon.

Scott James, 40, of Princeton and a juvenile were fishing on a 16-foot open boat with a 25-hp motor he ended up in the water before 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 19. The juvenile threw a lifejacket to Mr. James, went in the water and attempted to help him. The teen was pulled from the water by two nearby campers who heard him

High winds and waves were reported at the time, according to Lieutenant Tom Ward.

Fourteen game wardens, including divers and a pilot, are conducting the search along with civilians. The search began last night, was suspended overnight, and resumed Sunday morning.

The incident is under investigation.
