June 27, 2010 Delaware Teen Dies In ATV Incident Augusta, Maine - Kyle Hebert, 14, of Bear, Delaware, died today (Sunday, June 27), while driving an ATV on a sanctioned trail in Caribou. Mr. Hebert was traveling from Madawaska to Caribou with his grandfather, Philip Hebert, 62, of Madawaska, and his brothers, Ryan Hebert, 18, who was driving a separate ATV, and Dylan Hebert, 11, who was a passenger on his grandfather’s ATV. The family was traveling on a straight-away on ITS 83, a railroad bed trail, when Kyle veered off the trail and struck some trees at approximately 1:45 p.m. He was transported to Cary Medical Center in Caribou, where he was pronounced dead. Kyle, who was driving a 2006 800 Polaris, was not wearing a helmet. Speed may have been a factor. The incident is under investigation, according to Maine Warden Service Sgt. Dan Menard. Kyle is the son of Dodi and Danny Hebert of Bear, Delaware, who met family members at the hospital. |
