New Hampshire Man Dies in Snowmobile Incident

Augusta, Maine - A 39-year-old New Hampshire man died late Saturday morning when he hit a snowmobile that was parked on a trail.

Adam Russell, 39, of New Market, N.H., was the fourth snowmobiler in a group of four – all family members or friends -- traveling on Tim Pond Road in Tim Pond Township (near Eustis). The three snowmobilers stopped on the trail ahead of Mr. Russell, who apparently did not see them due to low visibility on the trail because of blowing snow and wind, according to Maine Warden Service Lt. Adam Gormely. Mr. Russell crashed into a sled belonging to Bob Minnon of Auburn, N.H., and died at the scene.

Mr. Russell was wearing a helmet. The incident is under investigation.
