Missing 5 Year Old Girl Located - Other News From Maine Warden Service

St. Albans, Maine - A five-year-old girl missing in the woods in the town of St. Albans has been located by Maine Game Wardens and Maine State Police Troopers.   Morgan Lawler and a family dog went missing behind the family’s residence at 158 Bubar Road in St. Albans at approximately 9:30 AM this morning.

A search party consisting of numerous Wardens and Troopers, including 2 Warden Service aircraft, and a State Police K-9 responded to the area.   At approximately 1:00 PM, the little girl was located 6/10ths of a mile south of the house in the woods by Wardens Jared Herrick, Kim Bates, along with Trooper Sergeant Jeff Beech, and Troopers Matt Casavant and Sam Tulmac.  The girl was not injured, but was checked by a Sebasticook Valley Ambulance crew.  The dog had returned to the residence on its own.

Casco, Maine - Game Wardens Neal Wykes and Peter Herring utilized a Warden Service airboat on Thompson Lake and rescued two subjects who went through the ice in a six wheel all terrain vehicle. Robert Doisvert, 52, of Oxford and passenger Robert Bagley, 57, of Raymond, Maine were in the amphibious type ATV. Wardens were able to tow the machine to approximately 20 yards from shore until the ice prevented getting the machine to land.  The machine is to be retrieved as soon as conditions permit. The subjects were cold but unharmed.

Otisfield, Maine - Game Wardens responded to the scene of plane crash on Pleasant Lake in Otisfield on Saturday at around noon.  The pilot, James Schaff of Gray, Maine owns a camp on Pleasant Lake.

Schaff had taken off from his camp before the crash. Maine State Police, Otisfield Fire & Rescue also responded. Wardens assisted medical personnel in carrying the pilot off the lake. Game Warden Sergeant Tim Spahr, and Wardens Josh Smith, Neal Wykes and Anthony Gray secured the scene of the crash on the ice until State Police and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) could complete their investigation. Due to rapidly deteriorating ice conditions, Warden Service utilized an ATV to tow the plane from the crash site to the shoreline.
