June 29, 2012 Boy Rescued from Sebec River Sebec, Maine - At 2:30 this afternoon, Game Warden Dan Carroll and two members of Sebec Fire and Rescue helped save the life of a 17 year-old boy. The boy had been swimming in Sebec Lake when high water and a strong current took him down over Sebec Lake dam into the Sebec River. The current was so strong it stripped him of his clothes and made it impossible for him to swim to safety. A single concrete abutment in the middle of the river made it possible for the boy to cling temporarily while helped responded. Warden Carroll and Sebec Fire members were able to throw a life-line to the boy and pull him to the rivers edge. The boy was treated for minor injuries by Dover EMS. |
