Rangeley Lake Recovery

Rangeley Lake, Maine - Today, the Maine Warden Service reports the open water that was present early this week on Rangeley Lake has now frozen over. Yesterday’s side scan sonar imagery gathered by wardens on Rangeley Lake indicated two snowmobiles and possibly a third. The long range forecast predicts warmer weather and recovery efforts will be evaluated next week. Wardens will continue to monitor the area with aircraft. Although frozen, Rangeley Lake remains very dangerous and travel on the lake should be avoided.
