INTRODUCTION 

This document presents Maine’s Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) for the three year period beginning October 1, 2003. The STIP constitutes the Maine Department of Transportation’s plan for obligating federal funds provided by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA). It includes funding schedules developed for all projects with remaining federal financial commitments based upon estimated annual funding levels. Projects are also listed that remain to be completed, but for which all needed Federal funding has been committed.
