Homeland Security Grants: Prior Years

Since 1999, Maine has received over $85 million in homeland security-related grant funds. These funds have supported such local and state-level program as:

  • Creating specially-trained regional reponse teams
  • Strengthening public safety communications
  • Supplying emergency power to public safety buildings and shelters
  • Fielding emergency preparedness and safety public education programs
  • Training first responders and emergency managers statewide to national standards
  • Holding emergency exercises to test personnel, equipment, facilities and plans
