Tri-County Wildfire Exercise a Hot Topic

Over the weekend, emergency responders from Cumberland, Oxford, and York County gathered at the Sacopee Valley Middle School in Hiram to conduct a functional exercise. On Saturday, October 23, EMA and responders simulated that a wildfire was sweeping through the area, leaving many issues to deal with. They made decisions on shelter locations, traffic routing, evacuation, and resources needed to fight the fire.

An after action report will be produced as a result of this exercise which will identify areas to improve on which is the end result of any exercise.
