Incident Safety Officers Trained

On March 30 and 31st, members of the SafetyWorks! staff conducted a two day Incident Safety Officers course for 47 participants. This was a Federal Emergency Management Course and was conducted through Southern Maine Community College and the Maine Emergency Management Agency. Students from the U.S. Coast Guard, local hospitals and fire departments, learned the basics of being a Safety Officer at an incident. They also prepared a safety document for the upcoming exercise in Bar Harbor later in May. Each participant will be given a certificate from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency.
