Instructional Techniques for Subject Matter Experts (L262)

August 13-16, 2012 08:30AM-4:00PM

Instructional Techniques for SMEs is a dynamic, interactive, and educational 4-day course designed for SMEs who are called upon to deliver training or provide presentations in their area of expertise. Participants will learn how to account for such things as room design, material organization, classroom/meeting room technology, learner influences, and the impact of the instructor/presenter on the environment.

The second half of the course is dedicated to practice training/briefing delivery sessions with constructive feedback from fellow participants and the course instructors. Participants will be responsible for delivering two 15-minute presentations on their area of exper­tise.

** Optional ** Attendees who are pursuing their COOP Level II Master Professional Continuity Practitioner certifications and have met all the prerequisites will have the opportunity to take the final exam during this course.

Course Location:

The course will be held at FEMA-Region 1 Training Learning Center in Boston, MA located at 99 High Street, 5th Floor. Classes will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. All expenses are the responsibility of the student.
