EOC Management and Operations Course to be Offered in Bangor

G-275 EOC Management and Operations

April 8 & 9, 2008, Bangor, Maine

The Maine Emergency Management Agenc,y in conjunction with the Penobscot County Emergency Management Agency, will be conducting a training seminar on the Federal Emergency Management Agency training program for Emergency Operations Center Management and Operations.

This 2-day course will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to effectively manage and operate an emergency operations center (EOC) during crisis situations. The course will cover many aspects of properly locating and designing an EOC, how to staff, train and brief EOC personnel, and how to operate an EOC during various situations. The relationship between the EOC and field Command Posts will also be discussed.

Selection Criteria: County, and Municipal emergency management officials directly responsible for developing, staffing, managing, and operating an EOC. Other EOC personnel are encouraged to attend. Successful completion of IS-275, The Emergency Operations Center Role in Community Preparedness, Response, and Recovery Operations is desired if applicant is new to position.

Course Location: The course will be held at the Bangor Police Department’s training room and EOC located on Summer Street in Bangor, ME. Classes will run from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. Lunch and breaks will be provided; all other expenses are the responsibility of the student.
