On Monday May 4, NOAA's Hurricane Hunter visited Pease Army National Guard Base in Newington, New Hampshire. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administrations P-3 Hurricane Hunter plane was made available at Pease for tours to the public. Emergency Managers from Maine were invited to a VIP Briefing and tour in the morning. About 15 Emergency Managers from Maine attended, representing the Town of Brunswick, Oxford, York and Lincoln Counties and MEMA. The briefing was hosted by Gray NWS’s John Jensenius who introduced the speakers. The event was to raise awareness as New England heads into the 2009 Hurricane Season which starts on June 1st.
