Wiscasset School Exercises School Lock Down Plan
May 27, 2009
Wiscasset Primary School Exercises School Lock Down PlanOn May 26, 2009, the staff from the Wiscasset School Department, Lincoln County Emergency Management Agency, Town of Wiscasset, Wiscasset Police Department, and Maine Emergency Management participated in an exercise at the Wiscasset Primary School. The exercise tested the school's lock down plan in the event of an emergency situation. The entire school of elementary and pre-school children was locked down in 28 seconds. Does your school have a plan similar to this? Maine law now requires a comprehensive emergency plan for each school in Maine. Planning guidance can be found on the MainePrepares website. For more information on exercising your plan, contact your County Emergency Management Agency or Maine Emergency Management Agency.
