Second Annual Maine Partners in Emergency Preparedness Conference

  • Thursday and Friday, April 29 and 30, 2010
  • Augusta Civic Center
  • Augusta, Maine

The Conference is a partnership among the State Emergency Response Commission, The Maine Emergency Management Agency and the Maine Association of Local Emergency Managers. It combines the offerings of the annual Hazardous Materials Conference, with a wide range of workshops and information sessions to benefit First Responders, Government Officials, Emergency Managers, Business Leaders, School Administrators, Health and Human Service Providers, and Voluntary Agencies.

Last year's inaugural conference attracted well over 300 attendees and over 30 exhibitors from many partner organizations and businesses. Sessions last year included:

  • Case studies of the Paris, Maine fire response and the Stockton Springs school hostage incident
  • Severe storms and flooding awareness, with the National Weather Service
  • Business continuity
  • School emergency planning
  • Crisis and risk communications
  • Grant opportunities for communities
  • Hazardous materials response skill-building workshops
  • The Annual HazMat Team Challenge
