MAINE EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY |
Emergency InformationDuring an emergency, MEMA, your County Emergency Management Agency, and your town will use many avenues to provide you with critical information. Ask your town and County Emergency Management Director how they will communicate with the public during an emergency. Will there be door to door alerting? Will officials use particular radio stations to broadcast information? Find out these answers as part of making your family emergency plan. MEMA will post emergency information put out from the State on this website. Remember, however, that if you lose power, this site will not be available to you. As appropriate, we will also use the Citizen Alert System and the Emergency Notification System for the Deaf. Please considering investing in a NOAA WEather Radio to receive weather information and warnings directly from the National Weather Service. Make sure a battery or crank powered radio is part of your disaster supply kit.
