About the Minerva Books By Mail Catalog

Minerva is the Books By Mail online library catalog for Maine State Library Outreach. Minerva is a shared catalog with more than fifty member libraries throughout the state.

Quick Instructions on how to order Books By Mail Online

Keep your card handy . . .

Log onto the Minerva catalog
On the drop-down menu, choose whether you want to search by author , title , subject , or keyword
Enter your search terms ( author is last name first )
From the pull-down list under Select Library, choose Maine State Library Outreach and hit Go
If we have items that meet your search criteria, you will see a list; here you may click on the link for a specific title to find out more about it
If you don't find what you're looking for in our collection , you may expand your search to All Minerva Libraries
If you don't find what you want in Minerva , you may look at other libraries by clicking on Search MaineCat
If you decide you don't want to order that item, you may Start Over or Return to List to resume searching
When you find the record for an item you want, click on Request
Enter your name, your barcode number from the back of your library card, and click Submit
