LIMESTONE, Maine - The Maine School of Science and Mathematics (MSSM), a member of the National Consortium for Specialized Secondary Schools of Mathematics, Science and Technology and New England's public residential charter high school invites current 10th and 11th grade high school students to apply for the 2001-2002 academic year. MSSM encourages inquiries and applications from Maine residents, nonresidents, and international students.

MSSM's extensive curriculum, taught by a dynamic faculty, offers highly motivated students a challenging and diversified education to prepare for selective colleges, future careers, and life. Current and incoming students represent diverse educational backgrounds that include public schools, private schools, and homeschooling.

In addition to the rigorous curriculum, MSSM students participate in Themed Weekends throughout the year and May Term. During Themed Weekends this year, students participated in seminars on creative writing, multiculturalism, movie making and computer science conducted by state, national and world renowned experts. May Term courses this year include travel to Newfoundland, internships, independent study and intense courses that include puppet theatre, multivariable calculus, advanced creative writing, and artificial intelligence.
