Challenge for October
by Lester Dickey
My son Jon just bought a house. He decided to erect a straight fence along
his yard to keep his children from getting into the road. "You planned to have the
fence posts five feet apart," his wife Sara said, "but youve got them more
than that." Jon replied "I didnt think youd notice, but I was four
posts short, so they had to be seven feet apart to do the job." How long is the
fence?
Please e-mail Lester Dickey with your answer and your name, phone
