Proposed Revisions to IT Goals, Principles, Polices,
Standards
By Lars Rydell, Staff
to the ISPB
The Information Services Policy Board (ISPB) is proposing to:
- replace the existing Architectural Principles with Technology Goals and Principles,
- replace the existing policy for adopting and amending ISPB standards with the
Administration of Standards; and
- develop standards for Privacy Statements that should be accessible from state government
websites. The Privacy Statement material is in three parts:
- a Strategic Direction,
- Detailed Standards,
- and an example of a General Privacy Statement.
Your comments and suggestions regarding additions or deletions to the proposals
are welcome, and should be sent to Carmen Fournier at BIS by Wednesday,
October 6. Carmen's e-mail address is: carmen.fournier@state.me.us. Her mail
address is: Bureau of Information Services 145 State House Station, Augusta, ME
04333-0145. Carmen can also provide copies of the above proposals.
The Policy for Administration of Standards and the Privacy Statement Standards have
been discussed and passed at first reading at the August 3 meeting of the ISPB (http://janus.state.me.us/policybd/minaug3.pdf).
The Goals and Principles draft was presented and discussed at earlier ISPB meetings.
I will be out on medical leave, but will be working at home and accessing my e-mail
(lars.rydell@state.me.us) and voice mail
from October 2 on. I look forward to getting your comments and suggestions to the
standards proposals. |
