9/19/02 - The Chief Information Officer (CIO) Award for Information Technology Excellence in Accessibility was presented to the Commissioner of Administrative and Financial Services, Janet E. Waldron. Her leadership, dedication and stewardship has advanced Accessibility and institutionalized the awareness that there are "No Boundaries" to the availability of Information Technology resources within State Government and for the citizens of Maine. The CIO Award for Information Technology Excellence in Innovation was presented to Secretary of State Dan Gwadosky and Chief Deputy Secretary of State Becky Wyke. Their vision and support through the application of e-Government initiatives has provided electronic access to numerous Government Services. Their innovation sets the example for getting more citizens and businesses "on-line instead of in line." |
Commissioner Janet Waldron, assisted by Maranacook Middle School students, Julie Virgin and Billy Ervin presented the CIO Award for Information Technology Excellence Award for Vision to the Maine Learning Technology Initiative Team in recognition of those who looked into the future and saw the world of tomorrow into which our children of today will excel. This team has made the largest education technology initiative in the history of the United States a success. Its members are:
