To Your Health

There are 17 million people in the United States who have diabetes. Unfortunately, 5.9 million of those don't know it.

The Edison Drive Office Complex Diabetic Support Group is planning a walkathon in conjunction with the America's Walk for Diabetes. This walk will start at 11:30 a.m. near state government’s Augusta’s Edison Drive Office complex on October 25th, and will last for one hour. Proceeds will benefit the American Diabetes Association (http://www.diabetes.org/main/application/commercewf ). The Association supports research to prevent and hopefully cure diabetes. It also promotes education and public awareness about diabetes and assists those who have this disease.

For more information on how to participate, help with this walk, or a walk in an area near you, contact Melicent Versteeg at 624-9785 or the American Diabetes Association at 1-888-DIABETES.
