BUREAU OF FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS

Department of Professional and Financial Regulation

State of Maine

Five County Credit Union, Bath, Maine, has requested permission to amend its bylaws to expand its field of membership, in accordance with Title 9-B M.R.S.A. § 848.

Presently, Five County Credit Union’s field of membership consists of employees of Bath Iron Works; any person who lives, works or worships in Androscoggin, Cumberland, Kennebec, Lincoln, Sagadahoc, Somerset or Waldo Counties, Maine; and spouses of persons who died while within the field of membership of the credit union.

To facilitate the merger with Knox County Federal Credit Union, Five County Credit Union requested approval to expand its field of membership to add persons who live, work or worship in Knox County, which is the field of membership of Knox County Federal Credit Union.

The Bureau approved the merger between Five County Credit Union and Knox County Federal Credit Union pursuant to the authority granted in Title 9-B M.R.S.A. § 872. After a review and analysis of the extensive documentation submitted by Five County Credit Union in support of its request, the Bureau is also approving Five County Credit Union’s bylaw change to expand its field of membership by adding the well-defined community in order to facilitate the merger. Therefore, as amended, the field of membership for Five County Credit Union consists of employees of Bath Iron Works; any person who lives, works or worships in Androscoggin, Cumberland, Kennebec, Knox, Lincoln, Sagadahoc, Somerset or Waldo Counties, Maine; and spouses of persons who died while within the field of membership of the credit union.

Any person aggrieved by this final agency action shall be entitled to judicial review, pursuant to the provisions the Maine Administrative Procedures Act, Title V, Chapter 375, Subchapter VII (5 M.R.S.A. § 11001, et seq.).
