BUREAU OF FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS

FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS SUPERINTENDENT’S

NOTICE TO INTERESTED PARTIES

Maine State Employees’ Credit Union, Augusta, Maine, has requested permission to amend its bylaws to convert its field of membership to become a community-chartered credit union, in accordance with Title 9-B M.R.S.A. § 814.1(A-1) and § 848.  Maine State Employees’ Credit Union proposes to retain in its field of membership, after conversion to a community-chartered credit union, the groups that were included in its field of membership prior to the conversion.

Maine State Employees’ Credit Union is a multiple common bond credit union whose field of membership consists of several employee groups.  The proposed bylaw change was to expand its field of membership to add persons who live, work, worship, or attend school in and businesses located in Kennebec County.

The Bureau has approved the request of Maine State Employees’ Credit Union to convert to a community-chartered credit union, consisting of Kennebec County, and to retain in its field of membership those groups previously included in its field of membership.

Any person aggrieved by this final agency action shall be entitled to judicial review, pursuant to the provisions of the Maine Administrative Procedures Act, Title V, Chapter 375, Subchapter VII (5 M.R.S.A. § 11001, et seq.).
