Interinsurance Exchange of the Automobile ClubHeld July 9, 2009 – Docket No. INS-09-2064 The insured requested a hearing regarding the company’s intended termination of his automobile policy due to a suspension of his driver’s license. Held: For the company. Interinsurance Exchange of the Automobile Club established that a suspension of the named insured’s driver’s license occurred during the policy term or within 180 days before its last renewal date. The reason for the suspension was not affected by one of the exceptions provided in 24-A M.R.S.A. § 2914(4), therefore the cancellation action was permitted.
