Temporary License

A nonresident who is licensed in another jurisdiction may be issued a temporary license to perform appraisals in this state providing the applicant has met the qualifications for the license prescribed by law. A temporary license authorizes the holder to perform the appraisal of real estate or real property in this State as required by a contract for services.

How to apply

Fees	Application fee: $ 30.00 License fee: $ 90.00 Criminal records check: $21.00
Term	Duration of project or 6 months, whichever comes first.
Requirements	Completed application to include: Licensure will be verified on the National Appraiser Registry. Irrevocable consent (on application) that service of process may be filed in a court of this state if necessary. Copy of the contract for services to be performed in Maine which must include address of property to be appraised and contracted completion date. Character references

Renewal fees and information

This license is issued for 6 months and is not renewable, however, the license may be extended for 6 months from the expiration of the original license upon request of the license holder and as necessary to fulfill the terms of the contract for appraisal services.
