85% State Contribution (employee pays 15%): $322.89 biweekly (Health: $309.20 / Dental: $13.69)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This is office and administrative support work with a regulatory or eligibility component in assisting the public with applications, fees, and/or examinations related to motor vehicle registration and/or driver licenses.  Responsibilities require independent decision-making on the appropriate processes to follow, information to process, and actions to take in accordance with standard procedures.  This position is responsible for assisting the public with applications, fees, and/or examinations related to voter registration, motor vehicle registration, and/or operator licenses.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

In order to qualify, you must have training, education, and/or experience in office and administrative support work that demonstrates 1) competency in applying a solid knowledge of the principles and practices of quality customer service to perform complex work in assisting the public with applications, fees, and/or examinations that have an eligibility or compliance component; and 2) the ability to use independent decision making on the appropriate processes to follow, information to process, and actions to take in accordance with standard procedures.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

TYPICAL DUTIES in this job classification include:

  • Code, compute, verify, post, reconcile, and/or update standard documents and financial transactions.
  • Present routine factual information to individuals/groups.
  • Assist customers with motor vehicle and/or voter registrations.
  • Administer driver licensing written and vision tests in accordance with set procedures.

TESTING PROCEDURE:

The information you provide with your application and Supplemental Qualifications Form will be compared to criteria developed by experts who are familiar with this job and its requirements, and converted to a pass/fair score.
