Value of State-paid Health & Dental Insurance:
Level 1: 100% State Contribution (employee pays nothing): $377.46 bi-weekly
Level 2: 95% State Contribution (employee pays 5%): $359.27 biweekly
Level 3: 90% State Contribution (employee pays 10%): $341.08 biweekly
Level 4: 85% State Contribution (employee pays 15%): $322.89 biweekly
Value of State's share of employee retirement contribution = 11.54% of salary
Bureau Information:
The Office of the Secretary of State, Bureau of Motor Vehicles, has an immediate opening for a full time Public Health Educator III (Medical Review Coordinator). The Bureau of Motor Vehicles is responsible for providing public services for the Dept of Secretary of State. The Medical Unit, within the Division of Driver License Services, is responsible for courteous and efficient service to customers of the Bureau of Motor Vehicles in fulfilling their medical paperwork requirements in order to obtain and retain their driver license privileges.
Job Description:
This position reviews, evaluates and assesses medical information from physicians and contacts applicants and physicians in order to determine the nature and extent of physical, mental, or emotional impairment or incapacity, and impact on driving to make determinations on license eligibility. This position also plans and conducts informational sessions and training workshops to medical community, elder community and in-house staff. In addition, this position consults and confers with various educational groups, state and federal agencies and/or members of the Medical Advisory Board in order to develop policies, resolve problems, and improve program effectiveness.
Some specific duties include but are not limited to:
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Community Health Education, Health Education and two (2) years’ experience in community or health education program planning, development, implementation, and evaluation. Directly related work experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
