Waste Management & Recycling Program
Anyone can celebrate Maine Recycles Week (November 8th-15th), and everyone is encouraged to participate in Maine Recycles Week. Communities sometimes see the organization of MRW as a daunting task, which definitely should not be the case. We have provided some suggestions below to see ways to celebrate MRW!
Municipal experience can be driven by many factors. The program must be created by a well-organized plan and effort. Maine Recycles Week, may be a great way to form and focus volunteers and or a recycling Committee. There need not be plans of epic proportions to accomplish a great deal. Well-organized feel-good experiences may have greater far-reaching results than a complex event.
Maine Recycles Week was created for municipalities. This is an opportunity to promote and recognize the recycling efforts at home. Recycling committees should be prepared to plan educational sites at events or throughout the community. Municipal offices can serve by example with displays and perhaps engaging children at community facilities. Rather than just observe activities from a distance, step forward with a community proclamation and recognize devoted and helpful individuals at the monthly meetings along with possible winners from contests.
