professional development and continuing education, library jobs in Maine, the federal e-rate program, video services, MSLN circuit rider information, and
information technology support for the Maine Cultural Building (ATM, distance learning, studio use)
- Outreach Services consisting
of the talking books, large print books and books by mail programs
- Maine Regional Library System including
district consultant services
- Maine InfoNet, supported by the Maine State Library and the University of Maine System, is a partnership of Maine libraries dedicated to improving information and library service to all Mainers through online systems and technology. Other Responsibilities
- Administration of federal library-related
programs
- State and federal data collection, compilation, and
dissemination. Aggregating information from the public library annual
reports is an important part of this function.
Services for Librarians
Statewide calendar through WebJunction Maine with Library related meetings, workshops, conference,
and events.
Directories of Academic, Public, School and Special libraries, also
public library trustee and friend presidents, email and website lists.
The Maine Regional Library System established three library service
districts based on population. Membership is open to all public, school,
academics, and special libraries in Maine.
Maine State Library Development Office & the District Consultants
- A listing of recommended funding sources and organizations for Maine
Libraries.
- Resources and tips to facilitate the process for applying for public
funding and privately funded grants
- Maine State Library will supplement MSL resources and borrow items
not owned by MSL from other libraries for libraries in the Central
Maine Library District.
- The Van Delivery Service is made up of all types of libraries across
the state. It is a voluntary service and participants pay a fee related
to the number of stops per week and the number of totes picked up per
stop day.
- Who Loans What list - a list of libraries in Maine accepting Interlibrary
loan requests via email and any particular regulations they have for
submission.

learning, learning opportunities, school libraries, and available library
